FinCleaner does not collect your data. The app cannot reach the internet: there is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising or tracking of any kind, no FinCleaner account and no FinCleaner server. The one thing it can do is copy your data directly to another device you own, over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, if you turn that on β and even then it never passes through a server, and we never see it.
This policy describes an app that is deliberately built so that most of what a privacy policy usually has to promise is simply not possible. Where something does leave your device, this page says so plainly.
The short version. Your statements, transactions and every insight worked out from them stay on your device. We never receive them, cannot request them, and have no ability to read them. We do not know who you are or that you use the app.
FinCleaner is published by Proclaim Advisors ("we", "us"). Because the app collects nothing, we hold no personal information about anyone who uses it. There is no database of users, because there is nothing to put in one.
If you contact us by email, we will of course have your email and whatever you choose to put in your message. See Contact.
Everything FinCleaner works with stays in the app's own private storage on your device:
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. It is not copied to iCloud or to any other Apple service. If you choose to pair a second device of your own, your records are copied straight to it over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth β see Syncing between your devices.
Nothing. We collect no personal data, no usage data, no diagnostics, no identifiers and no analytics of any kind. FinCleaner's App Store privacy disclosure is "Data Not Collected".
There is no account to create, nothing to sign in to, no newsletter, no data-sharing switch buried in settings, and no "anonymous usage statistics" of the sort that often turn out to identify people after all. We do not know how many transactions you have imported, which merchants appear in them, or whether you opened the app today.
Four things involve something outside the app. Only one of them moves your financial data, and only between devices you own.
FinCleaner offers a subscription that lifts the three-file import limit. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. FinCleaner asks the App Store one question β whether your Apple Account has an active subscription β and gets back a yes or no.
We never see your payment details, name, address or Apple Account. We are never told who subscribed β Apple gives us sales totals only, with nothing in them that points to you. Apple's handling of a purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not this one.
That exchange has no access to your transactions. It cannot send a purchase, a merchant, an amount or an insight, because nothing in the app ever hands your financial data to anything capable of sending it anywhere. If a subscription lapses, nothing is removed or hidden β only new imports stop.
You import statements from the Files picker, the share sheet or "Open With". The file is read on your device: nothing is uploaded, and nothing passes through us on the way. A temporary copy is kept only until you close the import screen, and is then deleted. The file you shared from is never changed or removed.
If the file you pick happens to live in iCloud Drive, Dropbox or a similar service, that service is involved in handing the file to FinCleaner, under its own privacy policy. Once the file reaches FinCleaner it goes no further.
If you subscribe, you can pair FinCleaner on two devices you own and keep them in step. This is the one feature that moves your financial records, so it is worth being exact about what it does.
Unpairing a device stops any further syncing with it. Records that already arrived on that device stay there β they are that device's copy now, and you can delete them on it.
The Data screen can write a CSV of your transactions and hand it to the iOS share sheet. That is you moving your own data somewhere you chose. Where it goes afterwards is outside the app's control and outside this policy β if you send it to a cloud service or another app, that destination's terms apply. Nothing is exported unless you ask for it and complete the share sheet yourself.
FinCleaner requires a passcode before it will store anything, and locks again every time you leave the app. Face ID or Touch ID can be used as a faster way in; your face or fingerprint stays in the secure hardware of your device, and the app never sees it.
No security is absolute. A device that has been modified to get around Apple's protections, a device someone else can unlock, or a passcode you have told someone will each defeat all of this.
Because the data never leaves your device, you do not need to ask us to exercise any right over it β there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct or erase. Within the app you can at any time:
Deletions are immediate and local. There is no copy elsewhere to clean up. Deleting the app from your device removes its storage along with it.
For users in the UK, EEA, California or anywhere with comparable law: the rights those laws grant over personal data β access, correction, deletion, portability, objection β have no data here to attach to, because we hold none. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have no basis on which to profile you.
FinCleaner is not directed at children, and is rated 4+ only because it contains no objectionable material. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy will change with it before that version ships, and the version and date at the top will be updated. Material changes will be noted on this page. Because no data has been collected, there is no backlog of previously gathered information that a future change could apply to.
Questions about this policy, or about how the app handles something, can go to privacy@fincleaner.app.
If you email us, we will have your address and whatever you write, for as long as it takes to answer you. We do not add it to any mailing list. Please do not send transaction data or screenshots containing account numbers β we do not need them, and email is not a safe place for them.
